New in Descript: Blazing fast exports, instant screen-recording publishing, and more

Today we’re releasing our biggest update to Descript so far this year. From a new suite of pro audio effects, to our launch of Studio Sound noise cancellation, we are launching features that will power your content creation workflows.

n the newest version of Descript, you'll be able to set up custom thumbnails on your shared videos, control silence between sentences, and we've made improvements to Studio Sound.

Today’s release brings you new, better ways to paste media into your composition, makes it easier to enhance audio with Studio Sound, and fixes a handful of bugs.

Since we released Studio Sound we’ve seen creators doing some really cool stuff with it. We want to see more. We want it so bad we’re willing to offer prizes. So we’re holding a contest, to see who can show us the most interesting, creative, impressive applications of Studio Sound.

In the new version of Descript, audio and video files will begin transcribing immediately and automatically when you drag or import them into new compositions. You’ll also be prompted to add speaker labels or initiate speaker detection while Descript is creating your transcript.
