In the newest version of Descript, you'll be able to set up custom thumbnails on your shared videos, control silence between sentences, and we've made improvements to Studio Sound.

Word Gap toolbar control

Now you can quickly view and adjust the silence between sentences or words from the new toolbar control. This is available both in the main editor and Descript’s screen recorder, making it easy to trim the beginning/end of your video, or long gaps between sentences.

Preview our new Clip Inspector

In two weeks, we’re releasing a big design update to Clip Inspector (the right sidebar). If you’d like to try it now and share feedback before it’s imposed on you, select Help > Debug > Inspector Beta from the menubar.

Other improvements

• Studio Sound now works in timeline export
• Overdub Voices that are in Draft or Training status can now be selected in Speaker Labels and used to create Overdub placeholder text; the audio will auto-generate once the Voice is done training
