Raise your hand if you've tried using AI tools like ChatGPT but not found them very helpful.
Maybe you heard (e.g., from this newsletter) that ChatGPT could write you a first draft, but when you tried, you got something that sounded so different from what you wanted, or from the way you'd write it, that it was useless.
"Wake me up when you can write a halfway decent first draft," you may've said to ChatGPT. Then maybe you wondered if it would in fact awaken you one night to announce, through the fillings in your teeth maybe, that now it could write a ripping-good first draft and how about you get up and give it a try since you're obviously such an expert on first drafts.
Well you don't have to wait for that eventuality, because you can read about Briana Brownell's latest on the 11 ChatGPT prompts that will get you the results you're looking for today.
She breaks down a study that tested and analyzed 26 prompting principles to determine what works best for getting responses that are both accurate and good. As in, a first-draft-you-could-actually-work-with good.
Give it a read. And don't sleep on the section about bribing and threatening ChatGPT. Turns out, it works. AI bots—they're just like us!

What are the rules for AI?
"There aren't any"—that's what you're thinking. And if we meant laws, you'd be right. We don't have a regulatory framework for AI yet; but don't worry, it's in the hands of a bunch of (mostly) old (mostly) men who shout at Alexa when they lose their keys. They are sure to act quickly and wisely. Meanwhile, the platforms where we publish are already making rules. If you're using AI to create, you'll want to read our guide to using AI on YouTube, Spotify, and Audible.

Let's get small
Short-form video—it's the only place to be! Oh wait, that was six months ago. Now every other TikTok is 10 minutes long. Who knows.
