How to Split AAC Files

Splitting an AAC file using Descript is a straightforward process that can be completed in just a few steps. Follow these instructions to efficiently manage your audio files.

1) Sign up for Descript for free and log in to your account. You have 1 free hour of transcription per month. No credit card is required.

2) Upload your AAC file to Descript by dragging and dropping it into the project window.

3) After Descript finishes transcribing, click "Show Timeline" in the bottom left and select the "Blade" tool to split your scene.

4) When you're ready to export, use the "Select" tool to highlight your newly split scene. Click on "Publish" to find the Export button, and change the export option from "Current composition" to "Current selection".

5) Repeat the export for any additional scenes and double-check that the exported file contains only the spliced scenes you want to keep.
